This tale is told from Cliff’s point of view- Cliff is a high school student with two jobs, a hard working mom, and an unemployed father. He has a crush on a girl (who notices him!!), and friends who like to joke around with him.
It is hard to describe this book. It is funny at times, and at times it is gut wrenching. The writing and voice are spot on, and absolutely delightful. I do think this is a book that EVERYONE needs to read. There are so many things in the book that both adults and teens can draw into their own lives- friendship, that first relationship, those wishes and dreams, and some definite heartache. Through it all, Cliff endures, and we are able to see a very small glimpse of what his future may look like.
