Clearly, I enjoyed it. Aileana is a well written protagonist with flaws and strengths and splendid development through the book. The supporting characters are just as well written, each taking on a breadth and depth of their own, with their own little stories mixed in to add dimesion to the story. The world is well constructed, mixing historical accuracy and lore with some really cool Steampunk action; were it not for the whole "fae waiting to break out of their prison and devour all of Edinburgh" bit I might want to live there for a while. The Falconer is the first of a trilogy, the following two books being The Vanishing Throne (released last June) and The Fallen Kingdom (releasing June 2017).
I recommend these books to anyone enjoying historical fiction, fae stories, and Steampunk fiction.
