Normally I don't do readathons-with running the website, having a job to pay the household bills, and taking care of all the mundane things that come with little chicks and a household with bills to pay, I prefer to read for fun and not to meet a specific goal. The 24in48 Readathon is a nice, easy going readathon-you can participate in games on different social medias, you can read as much or as little as you are able. There's no set right or wrong way to go about it, or set of specific books to read (I tend to pick my books on the fly, and there are times when I get home from the library, pick up a book, and put it back down to be returned shortly after because it wasn't suiting me that week). Some readathons are more structured, and longer term-lasting days, weeks, even a month or more, with different goals set during that period. Any readathon you enjoy is a good readathon at the end of the day.
In retrospect, I could have chosen a few quick reads, and blasted through a few books instead of one full book and a small fraction of a trilogy. I wanted to read the Shannara trilogy, though, so I started off with that, then when I needed a break from it (it is a heavy and slow read) picked up News of the World. Overall it was a fun thing to do, and I will be participating in the next 24in48 Readathon :)
