This is a quick read. It is also an incredible read. Yoon contrasts Madeline's life with description-her world is white. Her room is white, her furniture is white, her clothes are white; her world is static and unchanging. Olly wears black. He literally climbs walls. He is constant motion, constant variable, constant change. The book is structured in short bursts, with doodles and charts and notes and IMs scattered throughout. The end is different than the reader expects-though not entirely out of left field.
I enjoyed this book. I recommend this book for readers of YA fiction, for readers who enjoy a "real world" work of fiction.
